I need help. I made the mistake of posting the claim, in a forum following a poll, that America was founded on Christian principles, and that our Founding Fathers had no intention of kicking God out of our government. The person I'm arguing with is Jen Batkins. He doesn't describe what he is, but he acts like a professor. He is convinced that our country was not founded under God and he brings out "proofs" of such. The problem is, is that it's very difficult for me to argue with him. I know I'm right, but he rattles off a statement or letter of individuals such as Madison and Adams and uses those as "proofs". But I know that the bigger picture is much more than that. The problem is is that I haven't got the collegiate knowledge of our historical documents and of our Founders. Nor am I very good at arguing. Certainly not convincingly or charimatically. I need help with arguing with him. If any of you are inclined to help me, and I hope you do, read the attached file called 'Arguing with a Know-It-All'. I know that Jen is using only the material that he thinks helps his argument against God in America; I know he's cherry-picking. But I need your help to argue. I don't want to let God or my country down. Thank you for your time.
